Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cure Tinnitus?

A very small number of patients are completely cured. The vast majority are shown how to reduce and control their tinnitus and get relief from the noise. We are very successful at this.

Do you have to wear hearing aids?

No. We help many people who do not need hearing aids. If a person should be wearing hearing aids, however, we will advise them to do so. If a person already wears hearing aids we can help modify them to help manage their tinnitus better, providing they are not locked by specific providers.

What do we do that is so much better than other tinnitus clinics?

We have developed a unique process which is a refinement and blend of other approved tinnitus methodologies.

Our process has three key components:

  1. Information: We allow the patient to understand what tinnitus is, why it happens and how it can be controlled.
  2. We demonstrate how their tinnitus can be reduced or turned off (ameliorated). The patient will experience their tinnitus being lowered in the clinic. This underpins and proves the validity of the information and explanation they were provided with initially.
  3. A customised management plan for the patient’s specific tinnitus type and needs.
How much does it cost?

A tinnitus consultation costs €150. It takes about 90 minutes. Follow-up and subsequent visits cost €50 for a 30-minute consultation. Depending on the type, severity and duration of time a person has been experiencing tinnitus will determine if one or multiple visits are needed. Each individual is unique and the process will be tailored for each patient accordingly. There may also be a requirement for technology varying from headsets to aids. Some patients will already possess all the technology they will require, while others will need to acquire devices. We can provide everything which may be required. This will be discussed and the effectiveness demonstrated during the first consultation.

How successful is the QNAS Tinnitus Method?

The vast majority of tinnitus patients who attend our clinic derive great benefit. Some can even experience “a complete cure”, over time, but most enjoy a reduction in their tinnitus loudness and have an effective long-term means to manage their tinnitus. Approximately 90% of patients can experience their tinnitus being lowered during their first appointment but unfortunately, some individuals do not respond to treatment.

How does your method succeed when others have failed to help?

The QNAS Tinnitus Method has developed over many years by implementing, refining and blending known and proven tinnitus amelioration treatments. Rather than rigidly applying just one technique we take whatever works best from every process and tailor it precisely for the individual. Also, we take a very practical, broad sound spectrum view of tinnitus, far above the 8kHz limitation of most tests.

Will I need to buy Hearing Aids?

Less than half of our patients need hearing aids. Many who attend with us already have a known, prescriptible hearing loss and have their own hearing aids which we will endeavour to re-tune more appropriately for their condition. Providing re-tuning is possible due to some models being locked to specific providers.
